How much does it cost to DJ a Wedding?
Personally I don't like DJ'ing weddings but I often get asked to DJ the after party. Overall I seem to get questioned frequently on how much DJ services for a wedding cost.
If you live in a local non-metropolitan area, you should expect a DJ to cost under $1,000.
If you live in a more populated area (San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, etc) you can expect an experienced DJ to cost $1,500-$2,500. Is a DJ worth that much money? It's really up to you. This is your big day and remember that the DJ really controls the vibe. So best to put your money towards whatever you trust
Here is the pricing I personally use,
1. $2,500 flat (up to 12 hours): This includes travel/lodging if in the state of California and also providing music announcements during the ceremony & reception.
2. $1,500 flat (up to 6 hours): This does not include travel/lodging. This does no include helping out during the ceremony or reception. This is the best option if you just need the DJ to cover the after party.
